Prescription Medicines are dispensed at Gold Coast Chemists an Australian registered Pharmacy to comply with dispensing practice.

A Medical Practitioner who is registered in Australia must sign prescriptions in order for Gold Coast Chemists to dispense.

Gold Coast Chemists must receive the prescription in order to dispense your medicine.

1. Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) - ( Attract Government Subsidies )
   GEN( General ) Maximum cost to patient = $ 28.60
   CON ( Consessional ) Maximum cost to patient = $ 4.60
   
   
2. Private Prescriptions
   Attract no Government subsidies. A receipt will be issued for private fund claims.
   
   
3. Medicare Cards
   You must show your card as proof.
   General Patients Have a medicare card.
   Consessional Patients have a medicare card plus one of the following:
   1. Pensioner Concession Card
   2. Commonwealth Seniors Card
   3. Healthcare Card
   4. Repatriation Healthcare card for all conditions ( Gold )
   5. Repatriation Healthcare card for Specific conditions ( White)
   6. Repatriation Pharmaceutical Benefits Card ( Orange )
      
      
4. Generic Brands
   Simply means the same drug made by a different manufacturer. Their efficacy is the same. Generics are usually cheaper and we must advise you when there is an alternative Generic.
